Manufacturing Electrical Controls Specialist
Location: Alsip, IL
Shift: 3rd Shift | Sunday–Thursday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
Compensation: $77,761–$105,000 + 10% annual target bonus

Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a highly stable, nationally recognized manufacturing organization that is investing heavily in its people, facilities, automation, and production technology. They are looking for a Manufacturing Electrical Controls Specialist to join their team and support a large, highly automated production facility.
This is a great opportunity for an electrical/controls professional who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, PLCs, automation, and working directly with production and maintenance teams
. You’ll have significant ownership over controls-related issues and play an important role in minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.

- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and controls equipment supporting high-speed production lines
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo motors
- Edit and modify PLC programs as needed to resolve production issues
- Provide controls and electrical training to maintenance technicians to minimize production downtime
- Develop and maintain electrical and controls system documentation
- Maintain and troubleshoot production electrical equipment from various suppliers
- Assist with calibration procedures for process instrumentation
- Develop routines and SOPs to properly maintain controls assets
- Assist the controls engineering group with the installation of Line Information Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to diagnose and resolve issues
- Focus on root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
- Respond with a strong sense of urgency when production issues arise
- 3+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 6+ years of specific experience with a high school diploma/technical certification
- Strong experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
- Ability to edit and modify PLC programs
- Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- Background in food, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other CPG/process manufacturing
- Ability to work independently and make sound troubleshooting decisions
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical issues and solutions
- Strong sense of urgency when responding to production downtime
- PLC programming experience
- Electrical certification, vocational training, or Bachelor's degree
- Union manufacturing experience
- Mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience working with automated/high-speed production equipment
