Reliable Fire & Security, a division of The Hiller Companies, LLC, is hiring a Fire Sprinkler Inspector at its Corporate Headquarters in Alsip, IL. The role requires NICET II or higher for consideration (NICET III or higher qualifies for a sign-on bonus). The position offers $30.00-$50.00 per hour, commensurate with education, skills, experience, and certifications.
Job SummaryFire Sprinkler Inspectors conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler, clean‑agent, and special hazard fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine service and maintenance tasks on fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, including inspecting, testing, cleaning components, verifying functionality and diagnosing issues.
- Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
- Manage job scheduling and progress efficiently, focusing on quality.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly.
- Complete and submit all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Maintain equipment – trucks, lifts, tools – in proper condition.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- NICET Level II or higher in Inspection and Testing of Water‑Based Systems (NICET Level III or higher qualifies for sign‑on bonus); otherwise, ASE 150-10 Certification, Sprinkler Fitter License, or completion of an accredited Apprentice Program in Fire Sprinklers may substitute.
- 2+ years' experience in inspection and testing of water‑based fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, NFPA code requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to reach, and perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and kneeling.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings, possibly exposed to noise, dust, heat or thermal stress, low light, heights, or confined spaces.
- Use fall protection equipment and other safety devices as needed.
- Operate hand and power tools, including specialty tools that may produce vibration, noise, or torque.
