Scope of ResponsibilityThe Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all equipment, machinery, and facilities at all of Sabre engineered transmission structure manufacturing plants. This leadership role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports production efficiency through the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. The Director will lead a team of maintenance managers, supervisors, and technicians, driving continuous improvement in the maintenance department, safety standards, operational cost management, and the successful rollout of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
- Lead and manage the maintenance departments, including team members at all levels (managers, supervisors, technicians).
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures that align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Create and manage a high-performance team, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and safety teams to ensure optimal equipment reliability and plant uptime.
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and longevity.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of long-term maintenance strategies for capital assets, machinery, and facility systems.
- Conduct regular audits of equipment and facility conditions to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Establish and maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials to ensure immediate availability for repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
- Develop, implement, and lead a company-wide TPM program to maximize the overall effectiveness of equipment and machinery.
- Foster collaboration across teams to implement TPM pillars, including autonomous maintenance, focused improvement, early equipment management, and training.
- Monitor TPM metrics (OEE, MTTR, MTBF) and ensure continuous improvement in equipment reliability, uptime, and production efficiency.
- Lead TPM training initiatives to upskill maintenance, production, and operations teams on best practices and lean maintenance techniques.
- Support the development of a culture of ownership and accountability by empowering operators and maintenance personnel to identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment, leading by example and fostering a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
