Position Overview
TxDOT’s Amarillo District seeks a Facilities Coordinator I‑III. The role leads technical employees, inspects, monitors and oversees building maintenance and operational activities across the Amarillo district to ensure high‑quality facility operations. Compensation & LocationSalary: $45,521.00 – $71,055.00 per year. Nonexempt.
Location:
Amarillo District Headquarters, 5715 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, 79110. Travel: 25 % of the time. Shift: Day, 40 h/week, Mon‑Thu; possible nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities- Lead technical employees in all district facility maintenance activities.
- Inspect, coordinate, and monitor building maintenance, housekeeping, security, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement requirements.
- Monitor and maintain building condition, equipment, and service contracts; perform repairs or coordinate repairs.
- Enter work order information and track projects; order materials and equipment.
- Estimate time and materials for assignments; provide cost estimates.
- Train employees on maintenance, operations, groundskeeping, painting, carpentry, and security activities.
- Perform periodic inspections of buildings and grounds.
- Negotiate and develop service contracts (for II/III levels).
- Ensure Facilities Integrated Workplace Management System information is current and accurate.
- Oversight implementation of preventive maintenance program for districts and divisions.
- High school graduate or equivalent in general high school studies.
- 6 years of experience in building inspection, maintenance, utility systems, electrical, carpentry, painting (for I). For II/III, 8‑9 years of relevant experience in facilities management, building inspections and/or facility maintenance activities.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to drive state vehicle.
- Considerable knowledge of applicable inspection methods, preventive maintenance methods, building support service operations, housekeeping methods, building security policies, utility systems, carpentry work materials, contract development, public relations, project monitoring, leading and reviewing work, training, computer skills, safety equipment operation.
- Physical requirements:
ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in narrow aisles, lift/carry 25 lbs, walk long distances, respond to emergencies, work nights, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, work in inclement weather, use PPE, pass pre‑employment physical, pass drug test.
