Position

Env Svcs Wkr/Housekeeper

Position Summary: The Env Svcs Wkr/Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital. The position may be assigned to multiple areas, including patient areas cleaner, non-patient areas cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and/or others as needed. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.

Job Duties /Responsibilities
  • Clean and service areas in the building according to area assignments, including sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting rooms.
  • Participate in project work such as wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, cleaning upholstery, changing cubicle curtains and drapes, cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, and carpet extracting.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions to management immediately.
  • Perform routine, repetitive tasks under supervision, with due consideration for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and support service excellence standards while interacting with patients and coworkers.

Work Environment and Planning: Immediate and reactive planning may be required to consider patients, staff, and visitors; determine whether tasks can be performed at a given time; ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available. This description does not limit the duties to the listed tasks; additional duties may be assigned by supervisors.
