This position is assigned to various geographic locations within the Plant, for the purpose of maintaining clean and sanitary machinery, floor areas, miscellaneous equipment, and belts. The role involves tasks such as shoveling and sweeping for long periods of time, lifting and emptying waste product, scrubbing walls, ceilings, and equipment, and using cleaning chemicals, ladders, high pressure guns, air hoses, and hot water units safely.

The position may also perform tasks not directly related to sanitation under the direction of shift supervision and sanitation lead. All duties must comply with safety and GMP regulations.

• Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
• Clean equipment using established procedures, tools, and training.
• Clean floors and maintain good housekeeping in the area.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
• Maintain a safe work area by adhering to safety rules and reporting hazardous conditions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Apply thorough knowledge of cleaning agents, their hazards, and first aid procedures.
• Understand the Hazardous Chemical Program and associated chemicals.
• Adhere to all company rules, policies, and procedures concerning work, GMPs, and safety.

• Good communication skills, oral and written.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Manual dexterity and ability to safely use cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in adverse conditions (extreme cold and heat, extreme wet, within closed surroundings).
• Pass a 30-shift Sanitation training period.

Pay Rate or Range: $19.21
