This position is responsible for the custodial maintenance of campus buildings and facilities. The University has designated this role as Essential Personnel. Some overtime and weekend work may be required.

• Clean assigned buildings, classrooms, restrooms, and drinking fountains.
• Dust and clean chalkboards, offices, flat surfaces; wash windows, walls, glass doors, stairs, elevators, classroom equipment, and any tile or carpeted surface; may work from a ladder; polish brass.
• Collect and empty trash.
• Wash all dirty or soiled cleaning towels and mops.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo carpets; wipe down upholstery to ensure cleanliness.
• Report damaged structures and equipment; maintain entrance ways to buildings.
• Be dependable in attendance and report to work on time.
• Perform related work as required.
• All other duties assigned.

• Must be able to report to work on time and be dependable in attendance.
• Some custodial experience.
• Ability to work long hours at manual tasks.
• A current, valid driver’s license or .
• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and tools used in custodial services.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.

• Ability to exercise care in exposure to chemical, mechanical, or electrical hazards.
• Ability to follow routine oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work long hours at manual tasks.
• Ability to work while intermittently standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching.
• Ability to frequently lift light loads.
• Ability to work in an office or stockroom, in a variety of college buildings, and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
• Potential exposure to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious disease, or irritant chemicals.
