Job Summary

The Facilities Supervisor is a frontline leadership role responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of an assigned facility. This position reports directly to the Site Director and operates within the broader facilities structure overseen by a multi‑site Facilities Manager. The Facilities Supervisor coordinates hands‑on maintenance activities, supervises a small team of maintenance technicians and janitorial staff, and serves as the primary on‑site point of contact for all facilities‑related matters.

Job Functions Maintenance & Operations
  • Execute and monitor preventive maintenance programs (PPM) in coordination with the multi‑site Facilities Manager
  • Oversee and participate in the repair of malfunctioning equipment and facility systems
  • Conduct quality checks on equipment to ensure safe and operational condition
  • Create, maintain, and follow up on inspection and repair schedules
  • Track all work orders through to completion, escalating delays or resource needs to the Site Director or Facilities Manager
  • Act as on‑call resource for urgent facility needs, including after‑hours situations
  • Direct and oversee outside repair and maintenance vendors, ensuring work is completed to standard and on schedule
  • Communicate vendor needs and project updates to the Site Director and Facilities Manager
  • Obtain quotes and assist in budget tracking for maintenance projects, as directed
Team Supervision
  • Supervise a small team of maintenance technicians, providing day‑to‑day direction, scheduling, and performance feedback
  • Communicate expectations clearly and consistently to all team members
  • Report staffing concerns, performance issues, or resource gaps to the Site Director
Communication & Reporting
  • Serve as the primary on‑site facilities contact, keeping the Site Director and multi‑site Facilities Manager informed of all significant issues
  • Assist in scheduling, budgeting, and prioritizing work orders in collaboration with the Facilities Manager
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment status
  • Adhere to and enforce regulatory, safety, and security procedures across the facility

Job Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of a small team of maintenance technicians and janitorial staff at the assigned site; does not have independent authority over hiring, terminations, or formal disciplinary actions but provides input on performance matters
  • Acts with integrity, upholds organizational values, and maintains the trust of team members and leadership
  • Demonstrates reliability — consistently present, punctual, and ensures coverage during planned or unplanned absences
  • Communicates clearly and proactively with both direct reports and management
  • Comfortable taking direction from both a Site Director and a multi‑site Facilities Manager, managing competing priorities appropriately
  • Observes and enforces regulatory, safety, and security procedures
  • Exercises sound judgment in escalating issues that require management attention
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred
  • Thorough working knowledge of facility equipment, usage, and safety procedures
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements, quantities, and scheduling
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred

Job Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or vocational training in facilities management, HVAC, electrical, or related trade
  • Experience in a cannabis, food safety, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Familiarity with work order management systems or CMMS software
  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing systems, maintenance, and repairs
