Job DescriptionThe Amherst Public School District school system is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of a night shift Custodian at Amethyst Brook Elementary. This is a grade B position within the AFSCME bargaining unit with an hourly pay starting range of $18.28-$19.55.
Responsibilities Include:- Shovel and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
- Vacuum classroom carpets daily and dust furniture.
- Clean corridors after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it.
- Scrub and disinfect bathrooms.
- Keep grounds free from rubbish.
- Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
- Remain on the school grounds during assigned shift hours.
- Move furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities and as directed by the head custodian.
- Other assigned duties as required to fill job-related needs.
Requirements also include:
- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis
- Experienced in the use of custodial supplies, tools and accessories, including but not limited to floor scrubber machines, buffers, stripping and waxing equipment, etc.
- Basic computer skills
- Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)
- Acceptable National Criminal Background Check, commonly referred to as a fingerprint check.
