Job Responsibilities
- Support the operation, startup, and shutdown of compressors and related cryogenic bulk liquid product and tanks.
- Calibrate and maintain instrumentation on production plants, gas delivery systems, and liquid bulk systems.
- Maintain and repair PLCs, computer equipment, single‑loop controllers, and operator interfaces.
- Repair instrumentation as identified in work requests documented in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Tune P& loops.
- Complete preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as required in the CMMS.
- Document all work performed in the CMMS and in operations log books.
- Troubleshoot plant control system issues and assist in solving control system problems.
- Assist with the design of instrumentation‑related controls.
- Maintain spare parts inventory for instrumentation and control systems.
- Write standard work orders in the CMMS.
- Log instrumentation and controls activities that affect plant operations.
- Maintain calibration and records for test equipment.
- Maintain all I&E equipment records in both the CMMS and written form.
- Direct and work closely with contractors, monitoring and directing contractor work quality.
- Rack in/out breakers and switch gear as necessary.
- Provide assistance at other Air Liquide plants or customer sites as needed.
- Report pipeline and plant abnormalities to maintenance and plant managers.
- Report safety incidents and near misses to maintenance and plant managers.
- Perform job functions in a manner that meets or exceeds the company’s HSE standards.
- Control costs to achieve budget targets.
- Follow directions from the site operations manager and offer suggestions to improve system and procedure efficiency and quality.
- Be on call and respond to plant sites within two hours when on call, and be available by phone and able to support when not on duty.
- Perform any other duties based on business needs.
- On‑call availability required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and electronic controls, DCS systems, analyzers, transmitters, and valves.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong supervision and time‑management skills; self‑motivated learner.
- Ability to control an emergency situation and coordinate problem‑solving actions.
- Proficient use of a computerized maintenance management system.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Ability to maintain, repair, and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, and control valves.
- Basic understanding of the facility’s control system and the ability to develop a detailed understanding.
- Thorough knowledge of MCC/switch gear operation and safety.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical degree preferred.
- Four (4) years of I&E experience required, preferably in a plant environment.
- Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance.
- Pay: $42/hr–$45/hr, DOE.
