Facility Cleaning Specialist

Overview

This position is based in Anchorage but will primarily perform deep cleaning and painting services to facilities throughout Alaska. The position is full time. The employee must work independently with minimal supervision.

• Cleans offices, public spaces, industrial areas, warehouses, exterior areas, and additional areas as required.
• Assists journeyman level painter in small interior painting projects.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extracts, waxes, buffs, vacuums, and cleans all types of floors.
• Cleans carpets.
• Dusts both low and high areas using ladders and lifts.
• Wipes down or cleans walls and ceilings.
• Cleans windows.
• Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks.
• Removes and properly disposes of discarded materials.
• Removes and transports trash to appropriate disposal areas.
• May change light bulbs and perform very light facility maintenance.
• May operate a vehicle.
• Position requires routine weekly overnight stays within the State of Alaska with travel by aircraft.
• Other related duties may also be assigned.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some combination of education or experience evidencing a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes; experience in facility maintenance and painting preferred.
• A valid Alaska driver's license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Successful screening through multiple background and security checks.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Safety conscious and personable, professional interaction with others.
• Reliable, versatile, well-organized, disciplined, and self-starter.
• Math skills sufficient to calculate figures and amounts.
