Akeela, Inc. is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain our facilities, vehicles, and equipment across multiple locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, functional, and welcoming environments for the clients, staff, and communities we serve.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and vehicle maintenance.
- Prioritize and complete maintenance work orders using MaintainX software, accurately tracking labor, materials, and assets as directed by the Maintenance Foreman.
- Conduct monthly inspections of agency facilities and identify maintenance, safety, and repair needs.
- Maintain accountability for agency tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Assist with purchasing and requisitioning materials needed for repairs and maintenance projects.
- Submit receipts, invoices, and required documentation in a timely manner.
- Report health, safety, and facility concerns to the Maintenance Foreman or appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workshop and storage environment.
- Support facility improvement projects and other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience in facility maintenance, repair, construction, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a social service, healthcare, or nonprofit setting is preferred but not required.
