General Labor For Facilities Department
To perform general labor for Facilities Department for the summer throughout the rail belt.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs painting, power washing, landscaping, and general cleaning of section houses and other railroad buildings throughout the rail belt.
- Sweeps parking lots and sidewalks.
- Performs operational functions and maintains equipment and work area in accordance with practices and procedures prescribed in ARRC Manual of Safety Rules and Regulations for General Guidance and Protection of Railroad Personnel. Responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy work site.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Factor 1:
Skill and Knowledge
Must have knowledge of general home and building repair. Must have knowledge and experience working with power washers, weed whackers, and lawnmowers. Incumbent must be able to perform traditional maintenance activities. Incumbent works alone or as a member of a work crew, either in a shop situation or at a work site. Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibility
Incumbent works from written or oral assignments. Accomplishes assignments with a minimum of supervisory guidance, applying accepted trade techniques, practices, and work procedures. Assignments are subject to check during progress and upon completion for adherence to acceptable standards of workmanship and compliance with instructions.
Factor 3:
Physical Effort
Must be able to perform the general maintenance and construction duties that may include, but not be limited to walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Must be able to climb in to/out of confined spaces, climb tall ladders on to rooftops and/or other high structures. Must be able to perform strenuous work in inclement weather.
Factor 4:
Working Conditions
Must be able to travel out of town for 2-3 days a week.
