his position is represented by the Public Employees, Local 71, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

HOURS OF WORK:Schedules may vary: (4/10's)- Mon-Thu, 6am-4:30pm;
Tue-Fri, 6am-4:30pm, Fri-Mon, 6am-4:30pm, Wed-Sat 6am-4:30pm, Sun-Wed 6am-4:30pm; all shifts w/1/2 hour meal period.

Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Example of DutiesThe primary purpose of this is to maintain the Municipality of Anchorage park land and facilities in a safe and usable condition for the general public to enjoy. This position performs routine park maintenance under general supervision. The duties of this position focus on homeless camp cleanup work:
Under Parks Caretaker II guidance, clean up illegal camps and store personal belongings as needed. While utilizing safe work practices, remove trash, debris, and waste to restore Municipal property to usable conditions. Dispose of removed articles in a safe and sanitary manner. Other duties include litter collection, snow and ice removal, ice maintenance, general grounds and facility cleaning and repair.
Other duties as assigned.

months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
Additional Important InformationIf selected for hire, applicant must be capable of bending, twisting, and kneeling. Applicant must be able tolift and carry items weighing more than fifty

pounds and work outdoors in inclement weather.

If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a copy of the applicant's Alaska driver's license and a current copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicles' driving record, including a driving record from previous states if the Alaskan driver's license was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history.
