The purpose of this position is to perform custodial maintenance work s is an entry level position. Incumbent must possess a valid drivers license. Incumbent must be capable of performing various types of general housekeeping duties. Incumbent must be capable of operating various types of equipment involved in vacuuming, shampooing and buffing floors and have knowledge of selection and use of proper janitorial products and equipment.

Previous custodial experience is preferred but not required.

• Assists in maintaining janitorial services at Power South to include but not limited to sweeping floors, dusting common areas as well as cleaning windows in common areas.
• Cleans and disinfects bathroom facilities and other building and office areas, including cleaning mirrors, dusting and cleaning windows.
• Assists in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies at Power South, including restocking restrooms with soap, toilet paper, paper towels, toilet liners, etc.
• Cleans and maintains breakrooms as assigned. Duties include trash/garbage removal, making coffee each morning and periodically throughout the day, keeping sink area, counters and tables clean and wiped down, and cleaning out refrigerator(s) on a weekly basis, all as required.
• Assists in setting up for meals/meetings in assigned work area per coordination with staff from Communications department, including preparing coffee, drinks, food setup, serving and clean up as required.
• Responsible for ensuring the success of Power South by promoting teamwork, group goals and objectives, properly communicating and cooperating within the Power South organization and with member systems as well as demonstrating and promoting standards of respect and dignity, accountability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
