Keep all assigned facilities clean, sanitary, and in orderly condition, maintain grounds, and provide classroom and program support by performing duties assigned by immediate Supervisor and/or Building Principal.
Qualifications- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Must have a valid Kansas State Driver’s License.
- Be able to work in any and all weather temperatures and lighting conditions.
- Support District mission, goals, and objectives.
- Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by the Director of Operations.
- Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards in job duties.
- Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.
- Meet all District safety requirements.
- Have annual evaluation of performance by Custodial Manager.
Building Lead Custodian
Performance Responsibilities- Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, waxing, buffing, and vacuuming hallways, stairs, classrooms, common areas, gymnasiums, locker rooms, and offices; empty trash containers; assist with periodic or emergency clean‑up duties.
- Perform facility and equipment duties such as reporting need for repairs, maintaining equipment, and using vacuums, burnishers, chariots, auto scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaners.
- Perform grounds‑keeping duties: pick up litter and debris, clean snow and debris from sidewalks, assist in emergency cleanup or removal of snow or debris.
- Assist in work order projects: moving, hauling, and rearranging furniture, setting up and storing classroom equipment, delivering supplies.
- Assist in cautioning staff about equipment and facility safety.
- Inspect for and report pest control needs.
- Follow written and oral directions and report emergency situations.
- Use cleaning implements, equipment, machinery, and vehicles provided by the District.
- Manage job requirements with physical mobility (move, walk, stand, sit, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs) daily.
- Attend in‑service training activities for self and job improvement.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments, remove/replace light bulbs, perform lunchroom custodial services, assist with event setup and breakdown, assist with equipment storage, assist teachers with recycling projects.
- Work in any weather conditions and may be required to wear protective equipment (gloves, footwear).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Physical mobility to move from place to place, lift up to 60 lbs, use large equipment.
- Work in dust, fumes, odors, noisy and crowded environments with interruptions.
- Work indoors and outdoors year‑round in a variety of temperatures.
12‑month at‑will position, 40‑hour work week. Schedules or shifts may be altered depending on critical nature or emergency circumstances. Vacation and sick day allowances included in District Personnel Policy.
