Purpose:
Plan and coordinate all building level Custodial Operations and supervise building custodial Staff.

Qualifications:
Custodian must:

  • 1. Have a High School Diploma.
  • 2. Have at least 1 year experience in custodial work.
  • 3. Have the ability to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions.
  • 4. Have a valid Kansas State Driver's License
  • 5. Support District mission, goals and objectives.
  • 6. Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by the Executive Director of Operations.
  • 7. Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards in job duties.
  • 8. Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.
  • 9. Meet all District safety requirements.
  • 10. Have annual evaluation of performance by Custodial Manager. Supervisor:
    Building Lead Custodian
  • Performance Responsibilities:

  • Directs, assigns and inspects work of Custodial Personnel assigned to the building.
  • Trains Custodians
  • Reviews and corrects Veritime entries/time recorded for Custodial Personnel assigned to the building.
  • Resolves worker's problems or refers them on to Custodial Manager.
  • Responsible for annual evaluations and disciplinary actions of Custodial Personnel assigned to the building.
  • Submits requests for repair of buildings and equipment.
  • Submits supply requests and verifies delivery of request for the building Custodial Personnel.
  • Ensures that the building is secured.
  • Stays alert to and reports emergency situations and responds to emergency clean up instances throughout building.
  • Hauls supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Maintains lunchroom custodial services.
  • Attend meetings as required
  • The Lead will be a productive and active member of the Custodial Staff of their Assigned building.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes positive, professional, proactive and personable image of Andover 385 Custodial Department.
  • Establishes and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with assigned building administration and staff.
  • Ability to use the computer and necessary software.
  • Insures that paperwork, invoices, documentation, and data records are maintained and kept.
  • Proactive in reporting and documenting problems within assigned building.
  • Inspects cleaning equipment and machinery throughout building assigned to ensure that it is properly maintained and holds Custodial Personnel accountable for upkeep and reporting necessary repairs.
  • Monitors assigned Custodial Personnel to insure that they are promoting a positive, professional and helpful image of Andover 385 Custodial Department and are adhering to District Policies.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Manage job requirements with physical mobility to move from place to place (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis), and use large, heavy equipment.
    • Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
    • Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
    • Must work indoors and outdoors year-round in a variety of temperatures.

    Terms of Employment
    :
    Twelve-month at-will position. 40 hour work week or as established by the Board. Schedules or shifts may be altered depending upon the critical nature or emergency circumstances of the job. Work hours will be determined as required by conditions. Vacation and sick day allowances included in District Personnel Policy.
    Evaluation:
    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy as stated in the Classified Handbook.
    FLSA Status:
    Non-exempt
