Position Summary:

This position reports to the Facility Maintenance Manager and provides maintenance support for all facility infrastructures and selected production equipment. Some weekend and other overtime coverage will occasionally be required based on equipment availability and project schedules. This position will include scheduled emergency call-in periods and a rotating on call weekend shift to support our manufacturing schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on selected manufacturing equipment and all facility infrastructure.
• Repair facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment as required.
• Assist with day-to-day operation of wastewater treatment system, purified water system, acid scrubber, HVAC and compressor systems.
• Assist with day-to-day waste management activities (hazardous and non-hazardous wastes).
• Perform minor carpentry tasks, wall repair and painting as directed.
• Assist with office relocations as directed.
• Sorting and delivery of incoming US Mail as well as ensuring outgoing US Mail is picked up promptly. Ensure mailroom is neat, clean and organized.
• Keep all copy/scanning/fax centers neat, organized and stocked with paper and other supplies; change toner cartridges as required.
• Audit all areas of the facility and dispose of trash and debris as required to prevent excess accumulation.
• Maintain kitchen/pantry areas as indicated below:
• Empty trash as required preventing excess accumulation.
• In general keep kitchen/pantry areas clean, neat and organized. This includes spot floor, counter, microwave, refrigerator and sink cleanings.
• Work with food and beverage services to ensure areas are fully stocked with consumable product, and paper products/utensils.
• Ensure all work performed is completed in accordance with documented procedures.
• Assist Production with equipment installation and relocation as needed.
• Member of Facility Emergency Response Team.
• Listed on Facility Emergency Call List.
• Support Education and Sales Training events.
• Other tasks as assigned by Facility Maintenance Management.

Physical Attributes:

• Must be able to lift 50 lb without restriction.
• Must be able to maneuver full 55 gallon drums of liquid with material handling tools provided.
• Position requires working on ladders, elevated platforms and aerial lifts.
• Some work areas will contain hazardous materials (acids, caustics and flammable liquids).

Work Environment:

• FDA/GMP manufacturing environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate.
• Some work areas will contain hazardous materials (acids, caustics and flammable liquids).

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years experience in an industrial maintenance environment (FDA/GMP environment preferred).
• High School Diploma.
• Possess or have the ability to obtain the following certifications (training will be provided by Straumann Manufacturing, Inc.):
• MA Grade 2 Industrial Wastewater Treatment License.
• OSHA Powered Industrial Trucks.
• OSHA Hazmat First Responder Level.
• DOT Hazmat.
• RCRA (Hazardous Waste).
