Sports Complex Field Crew - Weekends

The City of Ankeny has a need for individuals who are interested in helping maintain the sports complex fields and grounds on the weekends.

$14.00/hour - Athletic Field Crew - Weekends

Days/

Hours:

Saturdays & Sundays; 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Starts as soon as possible and ends late October 2026.

• Maintains all field preparations including marking, dragging, raking, chalking, painting, and moving of goals.
• Makes regular rounds to inspect conditions, pick up trash, and remove debris from the sports complex grounds.
• Attends training and safety courses as needed.
• Assists in division building maintenance to keep buildings and grounds clean and neat appearing.

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
• Must be 16 years of age
• Maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license

• Works in field environment.
• Requires weekends, holidays and evening hours.
• Performs outside work in all kinds of weather conditions.

• Must be insurable.
• Must be sighted.
• Must be able to hear normal conversation.
• Must be able to speak clearly at normal rate of conversation.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, walk and climb stairs.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds and carries for short distances.
• Must keep regular and reliable attendance at work.
