Job Description
The Sanitor maintains a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing facility by following established sanitation schedules and procedures across processing, packaging, warehouse, maintenance, and office areas. This role uses a variety of industrial cleaning tools and equipment to remove debris, sanitize high-touch surfaces, and support overall plant cleanliness and safety on an overnight shift.
ResponsibilitiesFollow the Master Sanitation Schedule to complete all assigned cleaning tasks accurately and on time.
Read, follow, and document activities on the Sanitor Work Schedule to ensure proper recordkeeping and compliance.
Clean and remove debris from processing, packaging, warehouse, maintenance, and office spaces to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Utilize cleaning solutions, cleaning towels, industrial vacuums, industrial hoses, hand sweepers, and machine sweepers to thoroughly clean assigned areas.
Work at various heights, including overhead fixtures, railings, ductwork, and lights, to ensure comprehensive sanitation of all surfaces.
Sanitize high-touch areas such as handles, railings, and frequently used equipment to support a hygienic workplace.
Collect and remove trash from designated areas and dispose of it properly according to plant procedures.
Clean and sanitize common areas and production floors, ensuring they meet sanitation and safety standards.
Operate sweepers, scrubbers, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and other material-moving and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
Use balers and other related equipment as needed to manage waste and recyclable materials.
Perform basic documentation and data entry related to sanitation tasks using basic computer and keyboarding skills.
Work collaboratively as a productive member of the team, supporting coworkers and communicating effectively with other departments.
Ability to follow a Master Sanitation Schedule and Sanitor Work Schedule, including documenting completed tasks accurately.
Experience with sanitation and cleaning in production or common areas, including removing debris and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
Ability to operate sweepers, scrubbers, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and other material-moving equipment in a safe manner.
Comfort working at various heights, including cleaning overhead fixtures, railings, ductwork, and lights.
Ability to perform basic math operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Basic computer and keyboarding skills to support documentation and reporting requirements.
Ability to work effectively as a productive member of a team in a manufacturing environment.
Willingness and ability to work an overnight shift from Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience using industrial cleaning tools such as industrial vacuums, industrial hoses, hand sweepers, and machine sweepers.
Familiarity with cleaning and sanitizing production floors and common areas in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Experience operating balers and other waste-handling equipment.
Comfort working in an environment with airborne particles, including strong spice odors.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
Ability to learn and follow on-site training related to tooling, equipment setup, and machinery operation.

This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles such as spices, and motorized vehicles.
