Summary

Assume responsibility for maintenance, appearance, and cleanliness of the facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining facility security.
  • Initiate work orders for maintenance.
  • Use carpentry/ mechanical skills as needed, including using power and hand tools.
  • Fill propane as needed.
  • Stock first aid kits as needed.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly checks on equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure buildings and clean at all times.
  • Keep material system and vacuum pump room in good working order.
  • Keep silo area neat and clean at all times.
  • Keep molding room stocked with supplies.
  • Order and keep janitorial supplies stocked.
  • Change filters in the grinding room as needed.
  • Operate forklift as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be able to pass both a written and hands‑on performance test to obtain a Sterilite Forklift License.
