Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
Job Summary
Support the growing commercial services sector by installing and maintaining Breezeline’s Commercial Hosted Voice (VOIP), enterprise fiber, and small‑business (SMB) services. Serve as a key member of the Technical Operations team, responding to customer trouble calls and assisting with fiber deployments and network upgrades.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Hosted Voice service installations, including pre‑qualification visits, site surveys, pre‑installation and final installation.
- Install Breezeline Hosted Voice phones/devices, commercial fiber routers, and other CPE devices.
- Coordinate with Sales and Business Services teams to design and implement hosted phone changes, minimizing disruption to existing customer systems.
- Troubleshoot and analyze IP voice and data issues; conduct scheduled maintenance during commercial equipment upgrades.
- Work with the Advanced Services Group during customer system interruptions and device troubles.
- Assist local Technical Operations teams with additional tasks as approved by the Manager – Field Operations.
- Assist the construction team with Commercial fiber deployments and optical/network upgrades.
- Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience/training.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Google Workspace, and Layer2/3 networking technology.
- Familiarity with VLAN, multicast, and back‑office enterprise network technologies.
- Experience with PBX phone systems, SIP phone technology, and data center environments.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or regulations; write reports and business correspondence.
- Mathematical proficiency: basic algebra, geometry, percentages, and proportions.
- Strong communication skills; able to present information to managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to dialysis work in outdoor environments, climb ladders, and perform clean cabling and professional installations.
- Work within local and federal regulations and company policies.
Regular standing, walking, using hands and arms; occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, and carrying a 28‑ft ladder up to 75lb. Requires good vision (close, distance, color, depth perception) and the ability to differentiate wire sizes and colors.
