Day Porter
Responsible for daily interior cleaning of the building, including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning and restocking restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, placing down mats/runners in inclement weather, cleaning up spills, cleaning windows and window coverings, and other tasks as directed by a Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Perform exterior building and premises cleaning and basic maintenance including exterior walls and windows, parking lots and structures, walkways and paths, gardens and lawns, outdoor furnishings, pools/fountains/spas, curbs/gutters, exterior hallways, and stairwells.
- Assist with minor maintenance and repair work, including painting, replacement of light bulbs and fixtures (interior and exterior), replacement of windows, moving furniture and equipment, repairing doors and gates, minor landscaping and related upkeep and repairs, and simple plumbing and fixture repairs/replacements.
- Other duties may include gardening and lawn care, assisting with inventory control and supply ordering, snow removal (including salting/sanding), and assisting with tenant moves.
- Promptly notify management of spills, emergency situations, major and minor building/facility repairs, out or broken lights, equipment and fixtures, damaged structures, ruptured pipes, heating/cooling and ventilation problems, and any other observable safety issues or concerns.
- Properly and safely use and operate related equipment, tools, devices, and chemical/cleaning agents including mops, vacuums, electric polishing machines, power tools, and special cleaning solutions.
- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment.
- Willingness to work evenings or weekends (on call) in case of an emergency.
- Reliable, thorough, observant, organized, flexible, and courteous.
- Effective listener and team player who understands written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
- Practice safety protocols and procedures and follow through on work orders.
High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school.
ExperienceSome related experience.
Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Employees may need to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions.
Physical DemandsTravel between floors and buildings, climb stairs, remain stationary for about 85% of time, use hands to operate office machinery, walk, talk, and hear. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally or frequently, travel up to 5% of time, and exert up to 25 pounds of force constantly.

CompensationHourly rate: $16.45 – $19.35.
