Stationary Engineer 2nd class, Rotating Shift, Operations Facilities

Position

Stationary Engineer 2nd Class.

• Maintain and control all plant equipment including air handlers, steam stations, emergency generators, fuel systems, and all associated equipment.
• Operate, maintain, and service basic building assets such as doors, HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems, CMMS, plumbing, steam, vessels, air compressors, pumps, motors, fire protection, nurse call, and other building systems and services to all boilers, chillers, generators, and associated equipment daily.
• Provide energy management system (EMS)/building automation system (BAS) oversight to ensure building maintains maximum comfort and energy set points and setbacks.
• Complete assigned monthly PM work orders on time.
• Document all work performed in the CMMS computer database.
• Diagnose and repair Direct Expansion (DX) HVAC equipment, ice machines, Commercial Air Handling Equipment (AHU), Variable Air Volume (VAV) for both variable volume and constant volume ventilation equipment.
• Research and select materials for HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of experience in commercial or hospital central utility plant operations.
• 2nd Class Stationary Engineer License in the State of Maryland or ability to take the exam within the first 12 months of employment.
• 3rd Class Stationary Engineer License in the State of Maryland, strongly preferred.
• Valid US Driver’s License required.

Employment Type:

Full‑time, 40 hrs/week. Shift types include Day (0700‑1530), Evening (1500‑2330), Night (2300‑0730), rotating weekends with required 1 weekend in 6 or 7 weeks, and holidays per company calendar. On‑Call: no. Shift Differential: yes.

Pay Range: $21.55 – $28.87 per hour. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as United States of America (Non‑Exempt).
