- Easter Seals is seeking passionate Floor Technician to join our growing team at the Anniston Army Depot! This is a great opportunity for those who are new to janitorial work as training is provided.
Team members perform a variety of cleaning tasks with on-site supervisor support. We are an inclusive and supportive group that takes pride in our work!

ResponsibilitiesThe Floor Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Duties include removing spots from carpets, performing bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning, disposing of trash, operating floor scrubbers, burnishers, canister vacuum cleaners, shop vacuums and pressure washers. Wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.
Protect workers and visitors by keeping floors free from harmful microorganisms and by being mindful of slip, trip and fall hazards. Preferred candidates are motivated, meticulous, and able to work with numerous interruptions.
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self.
- Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and environment.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area(s).
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
- Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”.
- Ability to work without normal supervision.
- Report safety hazards as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position requires a moderate level of communication skills related to training line workers, as well as relating positively to workers. A high school diploma (or GED) is preferred.

- The ability to work independently.
- Able to read, write and speak English clearly.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Required to walk, sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and bend. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work EnvironmentWork is mostly performed indoors with average daily seasonal temperatures. Outdoor work subject to varying seasonal temperatures. Employees may be exposed to odors, chemicals, product spills, dust, loosened wax or water.
