Floor Technician

Job Overview:
The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and performing floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages (custodial, recycle, or maintenance).
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use required personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies per procedure.
• Use and maintain equipment properly.
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
• Observe safety precautions and use safety signs ("wet floor").
• Work without normal supervision where possible.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  no education requirement; 6 months–1 year experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: may be required to have a valid driver’s license, complete all safety and task‑training certification, may need forklift certification.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team; knowledge of equipment upkeep and care; knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Sunday – Thursday: 9:00 pm – 5:30 am. $22–$23 per hour.

Candidate should have experience using floor and carpet machines.
