DescriptionJOB TITLE:
MAINTENANCE ATTENDANT
USUAL TIME OF
WORK SHIFT:
Variable, depending on facility;
Full, or Part Time Positions.
BREAKS:
Variable; depending on facility and hours worked. Two 10-minute breaks; one 30-minute lunch.
OVERTIME:
Variable, as applicable.
MACHINES USED: 10-15 Passenger Ford Vans, automatic transmission air conditioned, Leaf Blower, Pressure Washer, Floor Buffer, Various Handyman Power Tools, (Electric Drills, etc.) Electric Welder, General restaurant equipment and machinery, i.e. soda dispensers, stoves, refrigerators, food processors, deep fryers, steamers, etc.
TOOLS USED:
General Hand and Power Tools, Shop Vacuum, Mops, Brooms, kitchen/restaurant utensils, containers, paper goods and related disposables, push brooms, house brooms, mop bucket (rolling), shovel, calculator, clerical items, 30-gal. containers, garden hoses, gardening tools, floor squeegees, and related kitchen/restaurant tools and equipment. Basic plumbing tools, and related handyman maintenance tools.
ASSISTIVE DEVICES:
Various pushcarts, push racks, piano dollies, 10-ft. portable ladder, various stainless steel/aluminum containers (maximum size 30-gal.), food preparation/warming equipment, utensils, food processing equipment, tools and related equipment.
SAFETY CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT:
Leather Welding protective gear, welding mask, Cloth and rubber aprons, hairnets/hats, anti-slip safety shoes, disposable gloves, latex gloves, leather/rubber gloves, elastic back brace, elastic wrist support, disposable hygienic equipment, disposable paper goods, and food containers.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK PLACE/WORKSTATION:
All work takes place within the parameters of the company's properties and surrounding parking areas, outdoor sitting areas and inside a well-lit, well-ventilated, fully equipped and air-conditioned hotel and restaurant kitchen work areas, customer serving areas, and within the customer/working areas of the company's properties. The work area is comprised of a typical large hotel, and all areas have level, (or uneven ground, outdoors) tiled, drainage-equipped floors with anti-fatigue perforated rubber mats at some workstations.
The exterior and interior customer service areas vary in size with indoor/outdoor seating areas. The adjacent landscaping and parking lot areas include shrubbery, blacktop, etc.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS/
PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Attendant responsible for helping the Maintenance Supervisor in the daily operation, maintenance, and repairs of all systems involved in the smooth operation of a large typical, modern hotel and related properties, parking lots and related areas.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to: the following Major Functions:
Responsible for maintaining the hotel building and grounds, including but not limited to the parking lot; guest rooms; hallways, lobbies, store-rooms, and laundry room.
Essential Functions:
Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Promptly responds to all guest- related concerns including but not limited to complaints and special requests. Have a thorough knowledge of all emergency and security procedures. Know how to clean guest rooms to standards. Know how to perform in-depth and routine maintenance, as well as proper operation of all mechanical units within the guest rooms and public areas.
Know how to operate and maintain all laundry equipment. Practice safety standards at all times. Be able to move miscellaneous items weighing up to 75 lbs.
Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Performs repairs as needed such as plunging toilets, tuning televisions or changing light bulbs. Pick up outside trash, clean parking lot and planter areas. Clean and check air conditioner filters.
Adhere to proper Lockout/Tagout procedures per OSHA requirements.
Maintain the Maintenance Shop in a clean, organized manner.
