Position OverviewThe Maintenance Technician performs maintenance tasks to keep production equipment operational, while working at and promoting the highest levels of safety. This position also supports the CMMS system to build a preventive and predictive maintenance program and helps enhance a culture of Continuous Improvement. The role serves as the main point of contact for outside vendors at the HQ and Aspen plants.
This position is Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
- Perform maintenance tasks to keep production equipment operational.
- Work at the highest safety levels, promoting safety internally and with contractors.
- Develop maintenance processes for capital projects and new equipment.
- Facilitate preventative maintenance with outside vendors at HQ and the Appleton plant.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all plant and building equipment.
- Develop and execute a preventative maintenance plan for existing and new equipment.
- Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Assist in developing and installing new equipment or plant expansion projects.
- Lead small capital projects and improvements in both facilities.
- Promote contractor safety during inspections or maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date maintenance records.
- Order and maintain spare parts inventory for both locations.
- 5–7 years of maintenance experience or educational equivalent.
- Current and valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Ability to be on an after‑hour on‑call rotation.
- Basic mechanical skills related to the use of hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of process control, refrigeration, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, LOTO, and industrial safety practices.
- Experience with steam systems, liquid transfer systems, pump repair, valve repair, and confined space entry.
- Previous electrical work experience a plus.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Computer skills and CMMS software experience.
- 2–5 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to repair and install piping – welding experience a plus.
- Experience with PSM, ISO 9001, and other manufacturing best practices.
- Experience leading and executing small capital projects.
- Strong team orientation and collaborative skills with operations team and external contractors.
- Capable of working in a flexible, often shifting environment.
- Effective interaction with customers, vendors, contractors, and operators.
- Assessment and recommendations for improvements in safety, cost, and performance.
