Primary Function

The maintenance technician is essential to sustaining smooth, efficient production operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment including but not limited to auxiliary equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential problems before they erupt.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and the relocation of existing machinery.
  • Adhere to all safety protocol and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and production personnel to identify and address equipment issues and implement solutions.
  • Support manufacturing teams with advanced technical knowledge and solutions.
  • May need to drive between 2 locations within 20 minutes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree or applicable certification preferred.
  • Vocational school or junior technical college training in applicable technical areas.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience, preferably in assembly/manufacturing operation.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and can pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems common with industrial machines.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
