Variable, depending on facility; full or part time positions.

Breaks:
Two 10‑minute breaks and one 30‑minute lunch, variable depending on facility and hours worked.

Overtime:
Variable, as applicable.

Workplace Information

All work takes place within the company’s properties and surrounding parking areas, outdoor sitting areas, and inside a well‑lit, well‑ventilated, fully equipped and air‑conditioned hotel and restaurant kitchen work areas, customer serving areas, and within the customer/working areas of the company’s properties. The work area is comprised of a typical large hotel; all areas have level (or uneven ground, outdoors) tiled, drainage‑equipped floors with anti‑fatigue perforated rubber mats at some workstations.

The exterior and interior customer service areas vary in size with indoor/outdoor seating areas. The adjacent landscaping and parking lot areas include shrubbery, blacktop, etc.

Job Tasks / Purpose

The Maintenance Attendant is responsible for helping the Maintenance Supervisor in the daily operation, maintenance, and repairs of all systems involved in the smooth operation of a large typical, modern hotel and related properties, parking lots, and related areas.

Major Functions
  • Maintain the hotel building and grounds, including but not limited to the parking lot; guest rooms; hallways, lobbies, store‑rooms, and laundry room.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  • Promptly respond to all guest‑related concerns including but not limited to complaints and special requests.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all emergency and security procedures.
  • Know how to clean guest rooms to standards.
  • Execute in‑depth and routine maintenance, as well as proper operation of all mechanical units within the guest rooms and public areas.
  • Operate and maintain all laundry equipment.
  • Practice safety standards at all times.
  • Move miscellaneous items weighing up to 75 lbs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Log in at shift’s start.
  • Change into work gear, depending on the first activity: apron, hairnet, anti‑slip shoes, disposable plastic gloves or latex gloves.
  • Obtain tools and equipment for the day’s activities. As necessary, turn on equipment and machinery. Determine day’s priorities with Maintenance Supervisor and schedule logistics for needed repairs or maintenance.
  • Perform repairs or maintenance of equipment with or without other outside service reps.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all hotel equipment, including kitchen, counter, serving, storage, and preparation areas. Oversee equipment operation and management activities, concurrently maintaining an adequate flow of activities.
