Part Time Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties as outlined on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Work as part of a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Use reporting systems related to the environment.

• No specific education requirement; 3‑6 months training or experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require a valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and completed safety and task training certification.
• Bilingual an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
• Willingness to share knowledge with the team.
• Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Has no supervisory responsibilities.

Monday – Friday: 5pm – 8pm
$15.50 – $17.00 per hour
