Janitor
A janitor is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a designated area, including any number of buildings and the surrounding area. A janitor should be in moderate physical health and able to stay on his feet for hours each day, as well as climb, bend and move heavy equipment.
Cleaning Janitorial responsibilities include basic cleaning: sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing furniture and cleaning glass. They may also be required to clean laboratory equipment. A janitor is also responsible for keeping bathrooms clean and well stocked, as well as informing a supervisor when more supplies are needed. A janitor may be required to operate heavy-duty equipment like carpet shampooers, steam cleaners and power tools.
