JOB DUTIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager for Solid Waste Management, the laborer is responsible for maintaining the Solid Waste Transfer Station. Duties include keeping the area clean, running the recycle route, maintenance and repair activities within the Solid Waste Transfer Station.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Regular attendance.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and customers.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., carry or stack, load and unload.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to use various hand, power tools and equipment in sometimes hazardous situations.
- Keeping the area clean of trash.
- Perform various recycling duties as assigned.
- Other jobs as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School or General Education Diploma.
- 1-2 years of related experience, or a combination of education, training and experience to equal one (1) year experience.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., carry or stack, load and unload.
- Ability to use various hand, power tools and equipment in occasionally hazardous situations.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be eligible for the tribe's insurance or obtain (1) one within 6 months of employment.
- Must submit to a pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.
