THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC T32, PDD
1194000 and is part of the AZ FMS6, National Guard.
- This position is located at FMS6 in Bellemont, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and/or overhaul of a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
- ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the FMS
6. - This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a current unrestricted, excluding glasses, state and military driver’s license.
- Irregular and/or overtime compensatory hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Must possess and maintain access to the Arizona Army National Guard computer network (NIPR) and required systems. This position requires constant domain access.
- Must possess or be able to obtain required GCSS (Global Combat Support System}
-Army certification within 15 days of hire date. Must be able to maintain access to GCSS-Army. - Rank availability dependent on each maintenance facility. Maximum rank may be lower based on specific shop requirements.
- Applicants in the grades of E-8, E-9, and W-1 must possess at least a Secret Security Clearance.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
:
WG-5801-08: Must possess at least 12 months experience or training using common hand and power tools and a small variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories. Experience which demonstrates a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments.
Experience demonstrating an understanding of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
