Cleaning Services, Janitor, Facility Maintenance, Maintenance Worker
Location: Marshall
The Custodial Worker is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and overall upkeep of the center to ensure a safe, sanitary and welcoming environment. The position maintains janitorial supplies, assists with basic facility upkeep and supports center operations as directed. Reports directly to the Center Director with general supervision from the Older Worker Program Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Clean and maintain facility areas including floors, restrooms and common areas
- Follow established cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly,Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies, including stocking, monitoring usage, and notifying the Center Director when replenishment is needed.
- Operate cleaning equipment and use chemicals safely
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and fire prevention standards and regulations.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Follow confidentiality and privacy practices, including HIPAA requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of the facility per established schedule
- Stock and monitor janitorial supplies and notify supervisor of needs
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, floors, and common areas
- Empty trash and maintain sanitary waste disposal practices
- Perform minor repairs and report maintenance issues
- Ensure cleaning and storage spaces remain organized
- Follow all safety procedures and report hazards promptly
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES,
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of health, safety, and fire prevention standards
- Knowledge of appropriate cleaning methods
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting and carrying up to 25 pound
- Ability to perform maintenance and cleaning
- Ability to operate cleaning machines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Experience in cleaning or maintenance preferred
- Ability to pass required background checks
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines, policies and procedures
- Ability to complete basic documentation of time and work performed
- Ability to make decisions and do problem solving
- Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
- Ability to grasp, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb and move about freely
- Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team member
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed at a community center with exposure to cleaning chemicals and routine indoor and occasional outdoor conditions.
JOB CLASSIFICATION:
- Non-Exempt – Part-time
- Older worker program:
Must be 55 years of age or older, be unemployed, be an Arkansas resident and meet income guidelines
