Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Facility Maintenance
Job Title
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) | Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield | Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance) | Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems | Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures

Essential FunctionsDevises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility.
Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders.
Develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system.
Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime.
Utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible.
Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance.
Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts.
Required QualificationsRequired education and experience:
Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred education and experience:
Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand and follow directions. Manual dexterity. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Physical stamina
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is Safety-Sensitive.
