Grade 105 / Step 1 = $37,835.20 annually or $3,152.93 per month

Schedule:

Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This position performs building and grounds cleaning and light maintenance duties to provide a clean, safe, and well‑maintained environment for employees and the public. The position also provides day-to-day work direction and coordination to part-time cleaning staff to ensure cleaning responsibilities and established standards are met.

• Keeps restrooms clean and supplied with soap, towels, and paper supplies.
• Sweeps, mops, and buffs floors in offices, hallways, and other facilities.
• Washes windows, screens, walls, and light fixtures.
• Empties garbage cans and other trash receptacles.
• Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture.
• Shampoos rugs and does spot cleaning on carpeting.
• Carries out routine tasks such as raising flag, assisting with deliveries, etc.
• Makes minor repairs to the building, furniture, and equipment including filter changes, light bulbs, painting, patching drywall, battery replacements.
• Cuts grass, trims shrubs, shovels and plows snow, de-ices sidewalks, and performs a variety of grounds maintenance tasks.
• Secures buildings after hours and inspects building for security of building and assets.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning and paper supplies.
• Assists with training and orientation of new employees in assigned job duties, cleaning procedures, equipment use and safety practices.
• Provides day to day work direction and coordination to part-time cleaning staff, including assigning and prioritizing cleaning tasks, communicating expectations, providing instruction on proper cleaning procedures and safety practices, and monitoring completion and quality of assigned work.
• Ensures all activities are carried out in a safe manner; adheres to all safety regulations; ensures all regulations pertaining to the safe use of equipment are understood and followed.
• Reports all accidents to the appropriate authority and follows all policies for reporting.
• Provides backup assistance to other department personnel as needed.
• Must be able to work with Sensitive Security Information.
• Reports to work for after hour needs, as assigned.
• Consistent and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts is required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year work experience in custodial services. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Must have experience running lawn and snow removal equipment.
• Must successfully pass background check and pre- employment drug/alcohol screening.
• Certification in area of expertise, as identified by the City, such as Certified Pool Operator. Veteran's preference points are acknowledged in the City's hiring process.
