Senior Accountant

Brilliant® is an award-winning contract and consulting practice headquartered in Chicago and specializing in accounting, finance, technology and business solutions for the Midwest and Southeast regions of the U.S. labor markets.

Our client, a mid-sized publicly traded music technology company is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant consultant on their corporate accounting team. This position will involve activity around GL accounting, Month End close, account and bank reconciliations, inventory, P&L analysis, and process documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of employees and management.

The position is contract for 3-4 months with potential for longer term hire. They are 5 days on-site in NW Chicago suburbs.

• Plan and perform monthly and quarterly closing procedures, including posting entries and preparing various reconciliations.
• Lead and coordinate fiscal month and year-end close process and external audit
• Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations.
• Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
• Advise business departments on requirements for reporting and accounting transactions.
• Support implementation of financial systems, including upgrades and training.
• Provide process mapping, documentation, and SOP development for the group.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and finance leadership.

• B.A. degree in accounting or related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience within a mid‑size or larger organization.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritize projects to meet deadlines and goals.
• Strong presentation and communication skills with internal and external parties.
