Position
Arlington Heights School District 25 has an opening for a full-time Special Education Teaching Assistant (1.0 FTE) at Westgate Elementary School for the 2025‑26 school year. This position is in an IS classroom.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching Assistants provide support to students with significant special education needs. Special Education Instructional Teachers will provide guidance to ensure that the assistant implements the Individualized Education Plans for students throughout their school day during integration into general education classes, special education instructional classes, hallway transitions, lunch, recess, and activities of daily living (e.g., toileting, eating, dressing, grooming).
Salary and HoursSalary: $22.00 per hour
Hours:
8:45 am - 3:45 pm
- Must have a valid Illinois ELS (PARA) Paraprofessional License, SUB license or PEL
- Have a genuine interest in students
- Ability to effectively communicate with children and adults
Effective July 1, 2023, districts are required to conduct an Employee History Review (EHR) of prior employers to determine if they have been the subject of a sexual misconduct allegation, been discharged, been asked to resign, or were disciplined due to an adjudication or finding of sexual misconduct. Applicants who are offered a position will be required to affirm that they are not disqualified from employment for these reasons and to authorize this review.
