Hourly Pay Range

$28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights
  • Position:
    Histology Technician
  • Full Time & PRN
  • Locations available may include NCH, Arlington Heights & Swedish Hospital, Chicago
What You Will Do
  • Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
  • Embedding:
    Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
  • Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
  • Recuts of tissue blocks
  • Special Stains
  • IF cryotomy of skin specimens
What You Will Need
  • Education:

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
  • Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
  • Experience:

    1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
  • Unique or Preferred

    Skills:

    Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
