QIDP Writing Specialist — Developmental Disabilities

Avento Health is recruiting a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) — Writing Specialist for a community-based residential program serving adults with developmental disabilities in Illinois. This position focuses heavily on service-plan documentation, written reporting, quality review, and coordination of supports that promote independence, dignity, and individual choice.

$62,000–$68,000 annually

• Develop and maintain Implementation Strategies, monthly Q-notes, and other required reports.
• Help ensure outcomes identified in individual Personal Plans and Implementation Strategies are being addressed.
• Develop short-term objectives and review data to evaluate individual progress.
• Complete required documentation accurately and within established time frames.
• Maintain individual records and online documentation for assigned caseloads.
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy and provide retraining when needed.
• Coordinate required documentation with service coordination partners.
• Support individuals in maintaining maximum independence, dignity, and personal rights.
• Complete required continuing education, training, and competencies within established time frames.

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field.
• At least one year of directly related work experience.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to complete detailed documentation and recordkeeping accurately.
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
• Employees operating an agency vehicle must be over 25.
• Ability to obtain or maintain required competencies or certifications, including first aid, CPR, and medication administration, within prescribed time frames.

Work is performed in a confidential, community-based residential environment. Scheduled hours are assigned based on program needs and may include response to emergency situations. The role may involve contact with individuals displaying challenging, aggressive, or potentially unsafe behaviors. Extended sitting and occasional lifting or moving of objects or people may be required.
