Plan, organizes, directs, and controls all efforts related to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide IT systems and infrastructure. Provides strategic leadership across multiple IT domains including data centers, compute and storage infrastructure, databases, and technical architecture. Responsible for strategy execution and operational direction of a business function.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate a team of IT leadership and professionals.
2. Lead the long-term vision and roadmap for data centers, compute, storage, databases, and platform architecture aligned with business objectives.
3. Ensure high availability, reliability, sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness of on-perm and co-location data center environments.
4. Establish standards, policies, lifecycle plans, and performance expectations for enterprise compute, virtualization, storage, and backup systems.
5. Own architecture blueprints, reference designs, technology standards, and platform patterns to ensure consistency and scalability across the organization.
6. Guide platform engineering, administration, performance tuning, security, and modernization across relational and non relational database technologies.
7. Develop comprehensive capacity planning frameworks for compute, storage, database, and network resources based on business growth and technology demand.
8. Manage multi million dollar budgets, cost modeling, Cap Ex/OpEx planning, vendor spend, and cost optimization across the entire infrastructure portfolio.
9. Establish strategies for disaster recovery, multi site redundancy, data protection, cyber resilience, and incident response coordination.
10. Maintain relationships and perform negotiations with major vendors (hardware, storage, DB, facility providers).
11. Implement KPIs, SLAs, observability, dashboards, and operational processes to deliver enterprise grade reliability across all platforms.
12. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay Transparency:
The compensation listed reflects the pay range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position at the posted location(s). Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment.

Pay Range: $ - $ per year
Illinois Pay Ranges:
Effingham, Kankakee, Lincoln, Quincy, Rockford, Aurora $143,100 - $286,200;
Bolingbrook, Chicago Heights, Des Plaines, Elmhurst, Forest View, Joliet, Schaumburg, Summit-Argo, Zion, Buffalo $143,100 - $286,200
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
* Ten (10 years of progressive enterprise compute, storage and data center infrastructure, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams and enterprise systems.
* Strategic planning and execution in IT environments.
* Strong expertise in designing enterprise-grade systems for logistics, transportation, supply chain or asset-intensive industries
* Deep expertise with server hardware platforms, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions such as Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
* Proven experience managing data center operations, including capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery and vendor management
* Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-dollar IT budgets.
* Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
* Proven ability to lead digital transformation and change management initiatives.
* Deep understanding of IT governance, compliance, and risk management.
