IT Business Analyst, Data Analyst
The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical IT Business Analyst to join its IT Division. This position plays a key role in the Village’s efforts to modernize systems and improve service delivery by connecting business needs with effective technology solutions.
This IT Business Analyst supports efficient operations, streamlined workflows, and data-driven decision‑making that benefits the organization.
ResponsibilitiesWork closely with departments, IT leadership, and the Enterprise Systems Analyst to understand operational needs and translate them into clear business and technical requirements.
Gather and document requirements, analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and develop practical IT solutions.
Assist with project planning and coordination for small to medium technology initiatives, ensuring timely delivery aligned with business needs.
Support enterprise reporting and analytics through the design and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and performance metrics using tools such as Power BI and SSRS.
Contribute to modernization efforts through process automation, system integration, and exploring emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
Actively participate in system implementation and enhancement projects, coordinating user acceptance testing, developing test plans, documenting results, and supporting successful system deployments.
QualificationsStrong analytical, technical, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for non-technical audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
Three to five years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related role.
Preferred experience supporting enterprise or ERP systems (Tyler Munis preferred), strong SQL and business intelligence skills (Power BI or SSRS), familiarity with integrations and workflow automation, and experience working in a complex, multi-department environment.
Salary and BenefitsAnticipated starting salary between $91,421 and $97,000, with a full range of $91,421 to $123,421. Exempt from overtime.
37.5-hour work week and a competitive benefits package including health and dental insurance, paid vacation, professional development opportunities, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan.
