The Infrastructure Technician builds and maintains reliable, well-documented networks and compute environments for our customer sites. This role focuses on end-to-end physical infrastructure—planning, installing, certifying, and troubleshooting network cabling and hardware—while coordinating closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to minimize downtime and deliver high-quality outcomes. Additionally, the role entails the procurement, config and setup of peripherals to make our gigantic logistic warehouses work properly.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure strong end-to-end troubleshooting skills for system and network
  • Network Layout Planning
    • Review floor plans, conduct site surveys, and propose network layouts (IDF/MDF placement, rack elevations, patching matrices).
    • Calculate cable runs, port density, power, and cooling needs.
    • Ensure designs align with standards (e.g., TIA/EIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801) and customer requirements.
  • Network Cabling & Certification
    • Check on subcontractors which terminate and test copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber (SM/MM) cabling.
    • Although build and dressing racks/cabinets, installing patch panels, cable trays is not your part of your primary responsibilities, you should be able to check on contractors for proper setup and lend a helping hand if needed.
  • Hardware Procurement, Setup & Troubleshooting
    • Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manage hardware ordering with suppliers.
    • Stage, configure, and test switches, routers, wireless APs, PDUs, UPS, and related peripherals.
    • Perform root-cause analysis and remediate Layer 1-2 issues; expedite higher-layer issues as needed.
  • Onsite Installation / Supervision
    • Lead or supervise on-site deployments, including vendor oversight (electricians, GC/MEP, cabling contractors).
    • Organize change windows, cutovers, and migrations with minimal service interruption.
    • Enforce safety, site access, and compliance protocols.
  • Customer Coordination & Communication
    • Serve as day-to-day technical point of contact during projects.
    • Set expectations, communicate timelines, risks, and mitigation plans.
    • Capture sign-offs, punch lists, and change requests; manage handover and training as required.
  • Documentation & Quality Assurance
    • Maintain as-built diagrams, labeling schemas, test certificates, and asset inventories.
    • Update change, incident, and configuration records.
    • Track and report on progress, issues, and completion metrics.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience in network cabling and infrastructure deployments across office, warehouse, industrial, or data-center environments.
  • Copper & fiber termination and testing; OTDR and certification tools.
  • Reading drawings: floor plans, rack elevations, single-line and patching diagrams.
  • Basic power and grounding concepts; UPS and PDU basics.
  • Tooling & Platforms:
    Fluke (or equivalent) certifiers, labelers, crimpers, fiber cleavers, OTDR; ticketing and change tools (e.g., Service Now/Jira), documentation (Visio/AutoCAD or equivalents), Excel/SharePoint/One Drive.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong customer communication, time management, vendor coordination, and clear written documentation.
  • Other:
    Valid driver’s license; ability to lift [e.g., up to 23 kg / 50 lbs], work on ladders and in confined spaces; willingness for travel and occasional after-hours work.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associates or equivalent experience combined with some educational experience
