Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment (which includes designing, testing, and implementing process improvements, and writing specifications), and supporting equipment validations, along with diagnosing and solving production equipment problems related to efficiency, scrap, and quality issues. Machining knowledge of Swiss and or CNC and or Wire EDM, sinkers, grinders.
We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $90k-$100k. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Work Model:
Monday – Friday, 100% onsite
What you'll do:
- Follow all manufacturing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) as defined by Viant Medical's practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Provide technical support for manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production, process, equipment, and quality issues to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop, optimize, validate, and maintain manufacturing processes, equipment, and production methods to enhance throughput, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
- Support engineering changes, new product introductions, equipment qualifications, process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process specifications, validation protocols, and process controls.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on reducing waste, defects, inventory, lead times, and manufacturing costs while improving efficiency and floor space utilization.
- Manage engineering projects involving process improvements, fixture design, facility layout, material flow optimization, and manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to support audits, nonconformances, compliance activities, and the resolution of manufacturing challenges.
- Evaluate equipment, materials, and processes to improve safety, ergonomics, reliability, and overall manufacturing effectiveness while ensuring compliance with engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct testing, research, and data-driven analysis to verify process performance, product conformance, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company policies, regulatory standards, and applicable safety requirements.

Requirements
Knowledge/
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ Years of experience in Engineering role
- Medical, Aerospace, Pharms or Military Mfg. experience
- New Product Introduction experience
- Machining Environment, CNC, Swiss, Lathes or Grinders
- Project impact
Skills/
Competencies:
- Advanced understanding of ISO
13485 standard (or equivalent), Lean Six Sigma Methodologies, PFMEA, Minitab, Oracle Configuration (or equivalent), Process/Equipment Validation, NPI (New Product Introduction), Root Cause Analysis and Solid Works - Good Manufacturing Practices
- Designs of Experiments (DOE)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
- Project Management and Lean Manufacturing experience
- Excellent knowledge of statistical tools, ability to manage multiple tasks and appropriate use of Design of Experiments (DOE) when developing recommendations
- SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge preferred
- Must be flexible and adapt to changing environments and priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
- Perform light, non-strenuous administrative activities on a regular basis.
- Occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and carries up to 10 lbs.; may involve minimal bending, pushing/pulling, crawling, climbing, balancing, or standing for extended periods.
- Maintains manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small items effectively.
- Requires visual acuity to distinguish colors, assess spatial relationships, and focus on fine details (e.g., using microscopes or similar equipment).
