What you will do:

* Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff within the unit. Ensure compliance with established clinical protocols, safety standards, and the delivery of high-quality care.
* Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff. Manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
* Oversee the delivery of patient-centered care within the unit. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans, address patient inquiries, and resolve concerns promptly.
* Lead quality improvement initiatives within the unit. Participate in audits and compliance efforts, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions to improve patient outcomes.
* Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and budget allocation. Monitor and control expenses while maintaining high care standards.
* Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures, within the unit. Maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant care environment.
* Facilitate ongoing education and training for unit nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. Stay updated on the latest developments in healthcare and clinical practices.
* Oversee the accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions within the electronic health record system.
* Collaborate with other departments, including physicians, care coordination teams, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and enhance the patient experience.

What you will need:

* BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
* Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
* Current CPR certification for basic life support provider through the American Heart Association. ECRN preferred.
* At least 2 years Charge Nurse experience required in the ED; 2 years scheduling experience preferred. Strong leadership experience preferred
