Hourly Pay Range
$33.96 - $52.64 – The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights- Position:
Registered Nurse - Central Triage/Medical Group - Location:
Arlington Heights, IL - Full Time: 40 hours/week
- Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Rotating every fourth Saturday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Reporting to the Director of Quality, the RN is responsible for professional communications regarding patient care, triage of clinical pool messages such as patient calls, result notes, patient call back, My Chart advice requests, etc. Participates in Rx requests and supervises Medical Assistants in dealing with prescription refill requests and prior authorizations per protocol.
- Appropriately triages telephone calls, answers questions and advises patients according to policy and physician orders.
- Manages patient health concerns and symptoms via telephone, using physician-approved protocols for assessment and management of a range of symptoms, including crisis intervention.
- Enters complete notes in EMR system as needed; ensures timely communication of messages, lab values, and telephoned reports.
- Instructs patients in preparation for home care procedures according to physicians’ instructions and education tools.
- Performs and documents a preliminary patient assessment including objective information, vital signs, weight, and subjective information relative to the visit using approved protocols and standing orders.
- Identifies urgent issues that require immediate attention (e.g., high fever, chest pain, behavioral health crisis).
- Education:
Diploma in Nursing required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Nursing or related field with extensive medical terminology and disease process knowledge. - Certification:
Professional licensure in the State of Illinois. - Experience:
Minimum of three years as an RN; one year of telephone triage experience preferred, preferably in a medical practice setting.
