Emergency Room (ER) nursing opportunity in a healthcare facility located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This position involves providing acute care to a diverse patient population, including numerous stroke cases and patients from various nursing homes. The role offers flexible scheduling on weekends, with options for full-time hours for qualified candidates, supporting a high-acuity environment with a census of around 180 patients daily.

- Schedule:
Days, every Saturday and Sunday; additional third shift available if desired. Shift hours are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. - Required Qualifications:
Illinois nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of ER experience. - Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in stroke care and working in a high-volume ER environment. - Additional Information:
The ER contains 44 rooms with approximately 10 beds per pod, primarily serving patients with strokes and other acute conditions. The team comprises nurses, patient care technicians, and physicians, with staffing ratios of 1:4 or 1:6 in triage. All staff are supported by a cohesive geographical layout, facilitating efficient patient care. The orientation consists of 12 hours and 6 hours non-billable hours, starting on 08/26.
On-call, holiday, and other operational requirements are as needed.
