Join our team as a Cannabis Advisor/Budtender at Tru Essence and become a trusted resource for guests exploring cannabis products. In this energetic, retail-focused role, you will provide knowledgeable guidance, deliver excellent service, and help guests navigate our diverse product offerings in a fully compliant, professional environment.

• We are currently open 6am to 10pm Monday through Saturday, and 6am-8pm on Sundays.
• We are expanding our hours and care hiring to support shifts as early as 5:30 AM and as late as midnight.
• Open weekend availability is required. Flexibility for early morning and late-night shifts is a plus.

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting cannabis products tailored to their needs.
• Educate customers on different strains, product types, consumption methods, and general effects.
• Provide general guidance on responsible use and serving sizes; refer customers to product packaging and labeling for specific consumption information, in accordance with IDFPR guidelines.
• Conduct product demonstrations and confidently communicate product details.
• Manage retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash handling and basic retail math calculations.
• Upsell complementary products and promote ongoing promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume.
• Maintain attractive merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure proper product placement according to company standards.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and keeping the sales floor organized and presentable.
• Handle customer inquiries via phone with professionalism, clear communication, and strong phone etiquette.
• Maintain compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations during every transaction.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must pass a background check and obtain an Agent Identification Card through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) before your start date;
  Tru Essence will guide you through this process.
• Open weekend availability is required;
  Flexibility for early morning or late-night shifts is a plus.
• Prior experience in general retail sales preferred; grocery, inventory, or stock management experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service background is essential.
• Familiarity with POS systems, retail math, cash handling, and retail transactions is preferred for smooth operations.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
• Basic math skills for processing sales accurately and managing cash registers.
• Experience with merchandising and stocking is a plus.
• Knowledge of cannabis products or willingness to learn about the industry is preferred, but not mandatory.
