What you will do
The HVAC Service Sales Rep is critical to the growth and profitability of the HVAC Service business. The candidate will initiate, establish, and build profitable service relationships with new customers, focusing on selling renewable maintenance agreements as the key building block. The salesperson will work within an assigned geographic territory, collaborate with local branch office teams, utilize sales tools to plan and document progress, and is expected to close business on a monthly basis.
Howyou will do it
- Follows a disciplined process to identify, target, and qualify prospective new customers, leveraging market conditions and networks to uncover leads.
- Contacts prospects, schedules appointments, and builds a referral network to identify new customers.
- Conducts sales calls to identify key problems and dissatisfaction confronting Facility Directors, creates urgency and positions Johnson Controls as the supplier of choice.
- Proposes solutions through creative application of local branch service capabilities, emphasizing renewable maintenance agreements and digital service offerings.
- Understands customers' business and speaks their language, reviewing and finalizing proposals, and securing commitments.
- Conducts kick‑off meetings, resolves issues, creates pull‑through opportunities, maintains and extends service agreements, and supports collections.
- Reports progress and account status to management using , calling for assistance when needed.
- Develops and implements territory marketing plans aligned with the company strategy.
- Attends and presents at trade shows, participates in professional organizations, and represents Johnson Controls with professionalism and integrity.
Required:
- Previous progressive sales roles.
- Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
- Strong presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Aptitude for technical knowledge with high attention to detail.
- Experience selling service and intangibles.
- Knowledge of building HVAC systems.

Base salary: $53,000–$75,000, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data. This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that accounts for volume and margin on projects, quarterly, and annually.
